What happened to the kids? [ Those are fantastic first words, Emma, but it's a valid question. Why? In the past couple of hours since she's arrived she's looked through the communicator logs, and from suddenly seeing lots of kids to there now being none? Weird. Very suspicious. Someone's in Good Guy mode already (always) ]

And why were they here? I didn't think that would happen. [ Not that she really knows a lot, minus her own deal with the Admiral. Would he do that? Well, Gold probably would, or not, she doesn't know, but she's suspicious. She doesn't like deals, not when there are things that could be magic involved. And kids. Protect the kids ]

Right. [ Moving on. Slowly. She didn't actually introduce herself, did she? ] I'm Emma, and hopefully I've figured this out and I'm not just talking to myself. [ It is very likely to happen ]

I guess being new is obvious, and I'm a Warden. [ One day this all may (fully) sink in ] As for this? I know what I'm doing. I've actually done it before [ Kind of ] so just... keep that in mind. [ Yeah. This is turning out to be the worst introduction. Way to go, Emma! ]

And if anyone's got a welcome pack? [ Does the job come with guides? Hidden benefits? Weekends? ] I'd appreciate it. [ And she's done. And can sit and wonder what the hell she just did ]

ACTION.
[ A little later in the day you may be lucky enough to run into one Emma Swan. Or at least a blonde woman that looks pretty lost. Or confused. It's actually both. She was trying to just check out the locations, get her bearings (the kitchen would actually be nice) except she got turned around. Or just lost, she didn't actually go backwards. Give a girl a hand? ]

[What are you even talking about, Dean is honest at all times, especially when he smiles. Which he does now.]

There's half a welcome pack. It covers the insurance plan and where to go for meals. [He grins, then, just briefly and kind of crooked.]

That depends. What'd you do back home? [You a civvie or a player, Emma? He can't decide.]

[Dean is familiar with the type; he doesn't push, just keeps smirking and lets her decide whatever she'll decide.]

Yeah - if you die, we bring you back, all of the pain and none of the scars. And by "we" I mean the Barge, of course. I don't do much resurrecting myself.

[The Sheriff thing almost gives him pause; he manages to cover the kneejerk reaction by grinning more broadly.]

Sheriff, huh? Well maybe the best tip I can give you is to get in with the other cops, then. Met any yet?

Yeeeeeeeeeeah that's generally the plan, but just in case. That should tell you enough right there, that this place has a safety net for that kinda thing.

Try looking up Dick Grayson, Angua von Uberwald, and Sara Pezzini. They're more likely to speak your language than anyone, if you're really a Sheriff back home.

Oh, and George Crabtree, though I'm not sure he speaks anyone's language.

You'll know when you meet him. Great guy. Bit strange, but.

Maybe we all are. How's that for philosophical?
