Look, I didn't know how to make it work, and not believing in magic and then being kidnapped doesn't exactly make anything better about it. [ Or more believable, you were kind of crazy ] And even if I did know? The curse would have stopped it.

Because the curse stopped magic. Wasn't that what it was supposed to do? Make a land with no magic.

Meaning what, exactly? [ No one tells her these things, okay... or she just refuses to believe them and then can't talk to the person she needs when she does ]

[ She'd laugh at how absurd that sounds except Jefferson doesn't make things sound funny. And... actually, she's not sure if she wants to believe if he's right ]
